Antonette's Spring Wedding in Old Town Alexandria
Antonette was referred to me through a professional aquaintence to do the hair for her wedding. Jan Scott, a long time colleague of mine, was doing the makeup for her wedding and suggested that Antonette reach out to me regarding doing her hair. It's always such a pleasure when another pro in the wedding industry sends clients your way. Especially since I was in the new stages of expanding my career to include wedding hair full time.
Antonette and I met for a trial run in November to design her wedding day hair look. She wanted a soft and textured up-do, and we agreed on a low tousled bun to compliment her veil and accent comb. It went perfectly with the soft makeup look Jan created for her. Jan also wasn't able to accomodate doing makeup for all of the bridal party, so I did makeup for two of them on the wedding day.
It was also the first time I had my niece, an aspiring cosmetologist, with me to assist at a wedding. Courtney was in cosmetology school and wasn't sure if weddings was going to be something she wanted to pursue after graduation. She came along to help curl and braid hair for me so that we could get everyone ready on time. In the nearly year since, Courtney has graduated and become the go-to person at her salon for special ocassion styles.
